The Fish and Wildlife Service has published a Notice of Inquiry seeking information on the importation and transportation of live amphibians or their eggs and Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (chytrid fungus). What would be the impact if listed? Importation into the United States, export from the United States and interstate movement would be prohibited unless they are free of chytrid fungus. Every shipment would have to be accompanied by a written declaration prescribed by the FWS that "indicates the shipment meets or exceeds the recommendation [certification and handling system] of the World Health Organization for Animal Health in its Aquatic Animal Health Code on Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis." Driving into work a while ago, a radio commercial for major clothing retailer, the one on its "no questions asked" return policy, caught this author's ear. This national department store, like many others, will take back merchandise (worn or otherwise) without a receipt with no time limit for the return. PIJAC hires Canning as President, CEO Pet Product News Share
The Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council has hired Mike Canning as its new president and CEO, filling a vacancy left by the shift of former CEO Marshall Meyers to part-time consultant in May. Over the next few months, Canning will be meeting with key industry leaders, participating in the development of a long-term strategic plan, and soliciting new members, PIJAC reported.
