Meet Our TeamScott Bedford, CEOsbedford@multibriefs.com | 972.402.7050 Scott Bedford has been in the technology industry since 1980. In 1988, Scott co-founded Source Media, a NASDAQ listed company, providing technology and advertising sales services to several major newspapers and yellow page publishers across the United States. Source Media was a pioneer in the interactive electronic advertising industry well before wide spread use of the Internet. In September of 2000, Scott joined forces with Dan Maitland to open MultiView and its news briefs division, MultiBriefs, where he regularly directs the efforts of the company. Scott graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree from Texas A&M and an MBA from Southern Methodist University (SMU). Dan Maitland, President dmaitland@multibriefs.com | 972.402.7055 Dan Maitland began his technology career in 1979 with Bell Canada. Since that time Dan has co-founded several successful technology companies. In 1987 Dan formed BDR, one of the first companies to provide electronic information on-demand over the telephone. Dan joined Scott in 1997 at Source Media and was instrumental in expanding the Company's market share through organic growth and four major acquisitions. Dan and Scott united in September of 2000 to open MultiView and its news briefs division, MultiBriefs, where he is the key motivation behind the company. Dan holds a Business Communications degree from Andrews University. Colby Horton, Vice President, Publishing chorton@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2601 Colby Horton has over 10 years of marketing experience, with extensive knowledge in electronic communications and association marketing initiatives. In February 2000, he joined the staff of the Automotive Service Association (ASA), the largest trade association representing independent repair professionals. His role as the association’s electronic communications manager quickly evolved as a need for a larger Web presence and electronic communications efforts were needed. He was responsible in overseeing the development and implementation of electronic marketing programs created specifically for the association’s member base. Before joining MultiView, he had a brief stint as marketing communications manager with Brunswick Corp. Colby holds a master of arts degree in journalism from the University of North Texas, and a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Arlington. Frank Humada, Product Development Manager fhumada@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2689 Born and raised in San Antonio, Frank Humada has always shown a passion for creative writing and news reporting. During his years in high school, he hosted his own highly acclaimed news show that was presented to the entire student body weekly. As a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Communications, he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. In college, Frank was a freelance writer and wrote several pieces that were published in the University newspaper The Battalion. He brings experience and passion to his position as content editor for MultiBriefs. Steve Brittain, Product Development Manager sbrittain@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2625 A native of the Dallas area, Steve Brittain brings a diverse writing and news gathering background to MultiBriefs. After graduating from Iowa State University in 2003, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity and a senior staff writer at the Iowa State Daily, Steve joined the corporate world as a professional copywriter where he has plied his craft for Cerner Corporation, The Kansas City Star, Children’s Medical Center Dallas and imc2. He has experience in news reporting, corporate communications, advertising copywriting and public relations. Yvette Craig, Senior Content Editor ycraig@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2641 Those closest to Yvette Craig often joke that she has the listening ear of a bartender and possesses the skills to interview a tree, if she had to. The sentiments are a reflection of the Milwaukee native’s passion for unearthing news stories that are often unique and compelling. Her journalism skills were cultivated at Marquette University, a Jesuit institution in her hometown. After college, Yvette worked as a daily beat reporter for newspapers in Connecticut, Illinois, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Texas. The experience successfully prepared her for her current position as a content editor for MultiBriefs, where she covers associations in the areas of social work, dentistry, aviation, retail, automotives, camping, workplace diversity, clinical laboratory science, hospitals and natural products. Stephanie Studer, Senior Content Editor sstuder@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2655 Stephanie Studer has an extensive background in research, having been both a circulation librarian and an instructor of Freshman Composition at the University of Wyoming where she earned her undergraduate degree in English and did her graduate work in Literary Studies. After leaving school she worked in retail management for Borders Group, Inc., before joining the team at MultiBriefs. Her areas of research specialty include popular culture, fashion, retail, volunteerism, general business/management, construction, ‘green’ power and energy production, literature, First Amendment issues, and international relations. Jennifer Maddox, Senior Content Editor jmaddox@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2613 A native of College Station, Texas, Jennifer Maddox graduated from Texas A&M University in 2002 with a BA in Journalism. Two weeks after graduation, she wrote her first article for a local magazine. Since then, she has had over 40 articles published in magazines, newspapers, and online consumer resources covering a broad range of topics. In addition to feature writing, her writing experience includes a wide range of forms, such as technical writing, copy writing, medical writing, and creative writing. Jennifer’s areas of research at MultiBriefs include explosive engineering, hospitality, warehouse logistics, airport management, health care construction, physics, wireless technology, travel, and the auto industry. Patrick McCoy, Senior Content Editor pmccoy@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2603 Originally from Shawnee, Kan., Patrick spent most of his adult life living in Orlando, Fla. He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in Spanish from the University of Central Florida. He also studied Spanish abroad in Madrid, Spain. Patrick was a Dow Jones Newspaper Fund intern, and he worked as a copy editor in the newspaper industry for several years post graduation. With a strong interest in the political process, he has taken courses toward a master’s degree in public policy. Travel is a favorite pastime, and he is seven states shy of visiting the entire U.S. A self-described word nerd, Patrick brings an innate attention to detail along with an enhanced cultural perspective to everything he does. Bianca Gibson, Senior Content Editor bvanaudenhove@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2611 Bianca Gibson was born in Dallas and raised minutes away in Irving, Texas. Her interest for writing was evident at a young age as she filled spirals with countless, imaginative stories. Moving forward in her education, she excelled in writing assignments and English classes. She spent four years with the Dallas Desperados arena football team where she developed an interest for public relations, specifically community and media relations. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Public Relations) from The University of Texas at Arlington. Bianca joined MultiView as a sales representative which provided a foundation to her current position as content editor. Hailey Sasser, Senior Content Editor hsasser@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2630 Born in Arlington, Texas, Hailey Sasser was raised in the neighboring town of Kennedale. A graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, she earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Communications with her focus on public relations. She developed her passion for writing through various school organizations and clubs such as the newspaper and yearbook. Her education provides her with a strong foundation needed for the communication industry. Following graduation she joined MultiView as a sales representative which opened the door to her current position as content editor for MultiBriefs. Lisa Smith, Senior Content Editor lsmith@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2644 Small town girl with big city dreams, Lisa Smith seeks the creative in everything. Having grown up right outside the Fort Worth city limits, she developed a huge imagination at an early age. This imagination has carried her through various opportunities, including her content editor position with Multibriefs. With a BA in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington, Lisa has had the pleasure of creating editorial pieces, and using her copy editing skills, for various publications such as AutoInc. magazine and American Way. Website design and photography has also made its way to the long list of Lisa’s creations. Julie Bernhard, Senior Content Editor jbernhard@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2647 Julie Bernhard is a native of San Antonio, Texas and graduate from Texas State University. While attending school and even prior, Julie has managed to get her hands on all things news. Julie first served as Editor-In-Chief of her high school newspaper and from there her passion continued to grow. In college, she wrote numerous articles for the student publication The University Star, worked as on air reporter for the student radio station and an anchor/reporter for the student news station, in addition to interning at several local TV stations. Her first job out of college was with a non-profit organization where she served as the Communications Specialist creating and producing everything from their publications to commercials to social media. Julie brings a vast communication background to MultiBriefs as a Content Editor. Brent Mangum, Content Editor bmangum@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2602 Born in Dallas, Brent’s family moved to Boise, Idaho, where he graduated from Boise High School. After high school, Brent was a competitive mogul skier for five years, with the U.S. Ski Team and lived in Park City, Utah. Brent was the assistant head coach for the Bogus Basin freestyle team in Boise from 2000 until 2003. Brent graduated from The School of Communication Studies at James Madison University in Harrisonburg Virginia. He focused on public relations and also completed a minor in art concentrating on graphic design and photography. Brent has spent the past 6 months as an online sales associate for MultiView Inc., the parent company of MultiBriefs. John Medellin, Content Editor jmedellin@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2628 Having been born, and grown up, in San Antonio,Texas, John moved to the Dallas area to attend the University of North Texas where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology. His specialties in his studies include syncretic religions, indigenous religious systems, mythology and folklore, and African cultures. His academic studies give not only a strong research background,but also a vantage point on working with groups of people that is at once intuitive and understanding, while still being analytical and focused. His areas of research include popular culture, corporate culture, retail and marketing, and minority populations. Shawn Smajstrla, Content Editor ssmajstrla@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2605 After graduating from LSU, Shawn initially began his career in advertising copywriting before transitioning into editorial work. He spent more than ten years providing news and feature content to a variety of print and online publications, including MLB.com, before taking the position of founding editor at a Dallas-Fort Worth-area sports magazine. That sports background also led him into limited broadcast work. His wide range of interests meshes ideally with the spectrum of clients he works with at MultiBriefs. Dennis Hall, Content Editor dhall@multibriefs.com | 469.420.2656 Born and raised in Dallas, Dennis Hall brings more than 20 years of journalism experience to his position as a Content Editor for MultiBriefs. He has worked in the sports departments at the Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Dallas Times Herald, and he also has worked at Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine and the Fayetteville (N.C.) Observer. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington. | |
