General aviation deliveries down 47 percent

Deliveries of general aviation aircraft have fallen 47 percent in the first nine months of 2009 when compared with the same time a year ago. Plane makers worldwide shipped 1,587 piston aircraft, turboprops and business jets in the first nine months, down from 2,982 a year ago, according to figures released from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association.
