|31st ACC Annual Conference & Exposition in Lake Las Vegas, Nev.
Nearly 150 attendees and 12 exhibitors enjoyed the 31st ACC Annual Conference & Exposition on Nov. 9-11 in Lake Las Vegas, Nev. The conference reflected the new ACC strategic plan by featuring an updated program that maximized networking and the discussion of relevant industry issues.
• New Sessions: The new Business Speed Dating event was a smashing success. Held in short, 10-minute blocks, member firms, vendors and government agencies explored project opportunities and potential teaming and business relationships. In addition, the Small/Medium/Large/Associate firm forums facilitated dialogue on common business challenges and solutions.
• TSA: The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) had unprecedented involvement in the conference. TSA representatives participated in a general session panel and addressed questions about spend plans, project budgets, and new technologies that will impact airport designs. Former TSA Administrator Kip Hawley was the recipient of the ACC Aviation Award of Excellence. Hawley noted that the award held special significance because of the unique role ACC members have in aviation security. Look for a detailed press release from ACC about the award next week.
