West Virginia schools learn how to manage crisis situations

Crisis management strategies for school-based incidents is the focus of educators in Ohio County, W.Va., this week, during a two-day training session at Wheeling Park High School. "We're trying to help them prepare for, prevent, respond ... from a critical incident in their school ... a critical incident being: a natural disaster, like a tornado, flooding or snow storm, or a man-made disaster like a school shooter or angry parent in the school," said Mike Webber, adjunct instructor for the School of Environmental and Emergency Management Center for Terrorism Preparedness with the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. more
