EPA declares Greenhouse gases a danger; vehicle emissions regulation next step

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency legally declared that carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases threaten public health and welfare, triggering a requirement of the Clean Air Act that such emissions be regulated. Automobile emissions are expected to be the first subject of the new climate rules.
