Former dorm goes upscale
from Boston Herald
A former Emerson College dormitory has been transformed into 16 luxury Back Bay condos, thanks to a gut renovation overseen by Boston architect Guy Grassi. Originally built as an apartment building, 100 Beacon St. served as an Emerson dorm from the early 1960s until 2006. Grassi added a limestone cornice, friezes and balconies that the original design had called for but which were never actually installed. The end result: a set of elegant condos that boast fine finishes such as limestone bathrooms, custom sapele cabinets and sewn-oak floors.
