Detroit police shot and killed a man in connection with an investigation into a shooting at Mumford High School earlier in the day, the first day of classes for the school year. Two students were shot outside the building on the city's west side — a 14-year-old girl was grazed on the face and a 16-year-old boy was shot in the buttocks, according to Detroit Public Schools officials. more
