American Airlines' mechanics eye global contract protests

After four years of negotiations on a new contract, American Airlines' unionized mechanics are preparing to take their battle to the streets — and not just in the United States, union executives said recently. Meeting in the Dallas area, representatives of the 22,000-member Transport Workers Union said they will continue to publicly demonstrate their dissatisfaction at the slow pace of contract talks and may enlist union allies at American’s partners in the Oneworld global airline alliance.
