Designers gin up fashions with less cotton

Cotton prices are coming off their fantastic highs, but consumers will continue to see the effect on store shelves, at least through the holiday shopping season at the end of the year, analysts warn. World cotton prices more than tripled since last summer and hit a major high this month, then backed off slightly on higher yield estimates. But the higher prices still are working their way through the supply chain, and apparel makers are struggling to come up with alternative designs.
