New York Assembly: Time to end wage discrimination
from Press Connects
Assembly Democrats who support legislation to end wage discrimination are pointing out the average salary for full-time working women in New York is $8,590 less per year than for men, a $22 billion difference annually. The Assembly recently passed bills that would make it a discriminatory practice to compensate men and women differently for comparable work; make it unlawful to discriminate against employees on the basis of gender, race or national origin; and require that public employees be paid equally for work of comparable value.
