Dreamliner engine gets key FAA approval

Boeing Co. officials have long promised that the company's new 787 Dreamliner would be delivered with the capability to fly new, long-range routes between cities that aren't currently connected. That promise was affirmed as engine maker Rolls-Royce Group PLC said the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had granted a crucial certification to its Trent 1000 engine, which will be one of two engines used to power the Dreamliner.
