FDA approves test for early diagnosis of Q fever

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first nucleic acid amplification test to diagnose the early stages of Q fever infections in military personnel. The test offers earlier diagnosis of the infectious disease caused by the bacterium Coxiella burnetii. The test was developed by Idaho Technology Inc, based in Salt Lake City.
