Google keynote added to program
Clinton Libbey, Geospatial Enterprise Manager at Google, is the latest addition to a dynamic program at this year's GIS for Oil & Gas Pipeline Conference, which takes place Oct. 24-26 in Houston. Clinton has been involved in the mapping industry for 18 years and is responsible Google's enterprise geo products to electric, gas and telecom utilities in North and South America.
His conference keynote will address how maps have been used to find treasures and avoid hazards through history. From the explorers of the 1500s to resource exploration firms today, mapping accuracy often determines whether the ultimate result is success or failure.
With the emergence of the cloud, users will have access to more data and organizations will have the opportunity to be dramatically more efficient in finding those treasures and avoiding hazards. Mr. Libbey will review the parallels between the earliest explorers and how Google helps organizations discover and manage natural resources and avoid the hazards that exist in our world today.
