College campuses combat eating disorders

Eight million people in the U.S. have eating disorders. Many people are diagnosed early in adolescence. But Katie Gibas reports, with the stress of leaving the familiarity of home, another common age of onset is when teens move to college. Without parents around checking up on kids regularly, going off to college can often be a place to hide an eating disorder. "You could look at it as detrimental to them to be at college because they're able to engage in their eating disorder more effectively," said John Wohlers, Ph.D., Center Syracuse clinical director.
