Mario Buatta's romantic bedrooms
from Architectural Digest
Say the name Mario Buatta and the image that comes to most people's minds is a cheerful Anglophile living room dressed in colorful chintzes. But the New York City interior designer should probably be just as famous for his luxurious bedrooms, which are equally dazzling and prized for their come-hither comfort. "Most people want a great living room but don't give the bedroom much thought," says Buatta, who for more than three decades has slept in a brown-lacquer chinoiserie four-poster. "To me, a sloppy bedroom, with newspapers and magazines everywhere, is the worst thing in the world."
