Canadian government to help sports groups fight concussions
from The Associated Press via The Washington Post
The Canadian government will spend $1.5 million to help reduce concussions in kid's sports. Four groups will receive the funding to support efforts to lower the rate and severity of sports-related head injuries. The groups will work to increase awareness among coaches, players and parents. They hope to develop guidelines for properly fitted helmets, recognizing signs of head injuries and determining when it's safe to return to play after an injury.
