FDA raps AeroShot maker Breathable Foods for 'false' labeling

A Harvard University spinoff that makes a "breathable" caffeine product has received a warning letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, citing "false or misleading" advertising on the product's label and the company's website. The FDA warned Cambridge, Mass.-based Breathable Foods Inc., a technology startup backed by two Boston-area venture capital firms, in a warning letter to CEO Thomas Hadfield that cited questions about the safety of the AeroShot, a chapstick-sized product that the company launched last fall, and has marketed on billboards near college campuses around Boston. more
