Creating Safe Campuses in Georgia: Supporting LGBTQ Students In Higher Education
The Georgia College Personnel Association, in collaboration with Agnes Scott College, Emory University, the LGBT Consortium and Spelman College, will host a drive-in workshop on June 25, 2012 focused on developing professionals in the state of Georgia. The workshop's goal is to support campuses and universities that are seeking ways to enhance their student experience with specific emphasis on addressing the needs of LGBTQ individuals. It will offer interactive and informative sessions led by a variety of facilitators with expertise in developing safe space/safe zone programs at colleges and universities around the country. The workshops have been designed to offer educational opportunities for professionals with varying levels of involvement and knowledge around supporting students that identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning. The keynote speaker is Jessica Pettitt.
