The presence of certified athletic trainers at a North Carolina county's 12 public high schools could be ending just 1 1/2 years into the high-profile initiative in Forsyth County. The trainers, who are full-time employees of either Forsyth Medical Center or Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, are assigned to a high school, where they assist coaches and players in practice and games.
