U.S. demand for pouches should increase 5.1 percent annually and could reach nearly $9 billion (€7.4 billion) by 2016, according to a new market study. U.S. demand will grow to $8.8 billion (€7.2 billion) by 2016, compared to $6.8 billion (€5.6 billion) in 2011, spurred by pouches' advantages in sustainability, function and marketing over alternative packaging, according to a report from Cleveland-based Freedonia Group.
