NY district holds curriculum camps for 'common core'
from Rome Sentinel
The Rome, N.Y., school district invited its teachers to multi-day "curriculum camps" recently for grades K-12 to help prepare for the state's new "common core" learning standards in English Language Arts and math. Teacher coordinators for grade levels are among those participating in the workshops that will include developing student learning "maps" for curriculum, said district Superintendent Jeffrey P. Simons.
