Proposed amendments to NAPT by-laws pass
Members voting in a recent membership-wide mail ballot approved eight proposed amendments to the NAPT by-laws overwhelmingly. The amendments passed by a vote of 237 to 12; the changes go into effect on Oct. 25, at the conclusion of the NAPT Annual Conference.
Article IV, Section 4.20 was amended to reduce from 10 to eight, the number of seats on the NAPT Board by eliminating the two director-at-large positions. In a related move, voters agreed not to fill the at-large seat that will become vacant when long-time Director at-large Launi Schmutz leaves office on Oct. 25, and that Article IV, Section 4.33 (which specifies the term of office for an at-large director) will be repealed in its entirety on Oct. 25, 2013, when the other Director-at-large Keith Henry's term ends. The remaining amendments either eliminated references to the director-at-large positions or renumbered related sections of Article IV.
