|MTBC STEM Summit with local school districts scheduled for Nov. 12
The MTBC is co-hosting a daylong summit in November with seven school districts in the DFW area to gain a greater understanding of the challenges educators face to provide STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education to their students. A second goal of the summit is to learn how industry partnerships can create solutions to those challenges. School districts participating in this initial summit include: Allen, Frisco, Irving, McKinney, Plano, Richardson and Wylie.
The MTBC has a vested interest in cultivating a future workforce of technology minded people. Growth, sustainability and innovation in this industry are highly dependent on talent, but there continues to be a declining number of students pursuing careers in STEM disciplines. High tech companies are anticipating a shortfall of workers by as much as 40 percent to fill jobs they want to create moving forward.
The MTBC Talent Team encourages all member companies to be represented at the summit.
