El Nino challenges the 2012 winter outlook
from Lubbock Avalanche-Journal
A meteorologist from Lubbock's National Weather Service said the winter's outlook is unclear because of El Nino's late appearance. Warning Coordinator Meteorologist Jody James said the delay of El Nino has challenged forecasters to determine this year's winter outlook. "We usually rely on El Nino to get a better forecast for months ahead," said James. "We have other sources we also use to get the forecast so we'll have to look more into those."
