D/FW Airport reopens mothballed satellite at Terminal E
from The Dallas Morning News
Spirit Airlines began operating flights out the Terminal E satellite terminal at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, the first time in more than seven years that that facility has seen regular commercial service. The terminal opened in 1988 as part of Delta Air Lines' efforts to gain some ground against its larger competitor, American Airlines. Rather than build an entire new terminal, the airport constructed the remote facility, attached to Terminal E by a pedestrian tunnel.
