 City extends airport's tax-free status

Council has extended an arrangement that exempts Hamilton airport from paying municipal taxes in a manoeuvre designed to save the city some money. Council agreed to renew a bylaw exempting TradePort International, the private operator of the airport, because otherwise, the city would have had to pay out about $460,000 in 2013, said Guy Paparella, director of airport development. more
