'Driverless' tractor technology ready by 2014

The use of machine control systems and GPS guidance in agriculture will see 'driverless' tractors in the U.K. by 2014, the chief executive of the Royal Agricultural Society of England has said. David Gardner has said that robots will play a huge role in complex agriculture by the middle of this century, capable of cultivating lands, destroying particular weeds and harvesting fruit and vegetables.
