Rochester area loses jobs in December
from Rochester Business Journal
The Rochester-area economy dipped in December, with a year-over-year loss in the number of non-farm and private-sector jobs, the state Department of Labor said. Rochester lost 1,500 non-farm jobs, or 0.3 percent, in December compared with the same month a year ago, while the private sector shed 2,200 jobs, or 0.5 percent. The Rochester area was one of four upstate regions to lose non-farm jobs in December, and one of five to lose private-sector jobs.
