New report outlines plan to save $2 trillion in health costs by 2023

Slowing the growth of health spending by $2 trillion from 2014 to 2023 could be possible through a set of strategic policies on payment reform, enhanced consumer choice and controlling increasing costs, according to the Commonwealth Fund Commission on a High Performance Health System. "We have broad evidence that much of our spending is wasteful," says Cathy Schoen, Commonwealth Fund senior vice president and lead author of the report.
