You don't have to leave the ground to fly high in today's sluggish job market. "Aviation maintenance technicians are in demand worldwide," said Reggie Baker, executive director of the Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Duluth, Minn. The global airline industry will need 34,000 new airplanes (double the current number) by 2031, according to a 2012 Current Market Outlook report published by the Boeing Co.
