Schools earn money by participating in distracted driving project

from KIMA-TV

VideoBriefA high school distracted driving project in Washington kept more students from texting behind the wheel. Stanton Academy and Selah High School both completed the program in January. Students work with teachers to promote awareness about the danger of distracted driving. They made their own brochures and videos. Students at Stanton also designed posters and signed a pledge to avoid distracted driving. "I've learned that even if you're not distracted, you know you need to be aware because there could be other cars behind you or next to you being distracted," Christina Vela. State Farm Insurance and the Washington Traffic Safety Commission gave $500 to each school that participates. more
