U.S. truck tonnage up for fourth straight month

U.S. for-hire truck tonnage rose 0.6 per cent in February after increasing one per cent in January, according to the latest figures from the American Trucking Associations. The one per cent gain in January was revised down from a 2.4 per cent increase the ATA reported. Tonnage has now increased for four straight months, an event which hasn't happened since late 2011. Over the last four months, tonnage gained a total of 7.7 per cent.
