The World Conference on Disaster Management (WCDM), June 23-26, 2013, Toronto, ON, Canada, will include a June 23 workshop, "Forbes-Kay Charrette: Can Disease Actually Improve Resilience?" This workshop is a day-long rapid exploration of strategic ideas for better prevention and better response to disease epidemics, facilitated by a researcher and a contingency planner. Multiple tabletop exercises will be interspersed with short, thought-provoking presentations. Participation is limited to 40 contingency planners in the public and private sectors.
