Slashing nursing jobs is nothing if not short-sighted, says the head of the Quebec order of nurses. Having fewer nurses on hand has a negative effect on patients, Lucie Tremblay said during a break at the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec's annual meeting, whose theme this year is improving care and patient safety. Tremblay's comments come in the wake of more cuts being announced at the McGill University Health Centre. more
