Medical Simulation Conference brings visitors from 5 states to Austin, Minn.
With a shortage of nurses nationwide, healthcare providers are looking for new ways to train the next generation of healthcare workers. More than 90 healthcare professionals from across the Midwest met at Riverland Community College's simulation lab in Austin, Minn., for a conference dedicated to expanding the role patient simulators play in health education. "It's important that we can build and develop realistic scenarios in which our students can learn so that they'll be more prepared after they move into the practicing professional world," said Krista Kipper, program manager for HealthPartners clinical simulation.
