What generation gap? Cultural tastes have stagnated since 1960s
from National Post
For my wife's birthday, I got her a framed triptych. In the centre are our two sons, riding the antique fire engine ride a couple of summers ago at Toronto's Centreville amusement park, faces contorted as though they're going a million miles an hour. On either side, two more kids on the same ride. One is her, the other me. It's the mid-1970s. It's conceivable that mother, father and sons are riding the very same miniature vehicle, years apart.
