State holds final KanCare troubleshooting call
from Kansas Health Institute
Kansas health officials recently held their last KanCare troubleshooting teleconference with the state's Medicaid providers. The phone dialogues began last December just ahead of the launch of KanCare and for a while were held daily. More recently they had been held each Thursday. Typically, each session lasted an hour and included brief updates from the executives of the state's three KanCare contractors: Amerigroup, UnitedHealthcare and Sunflower State Health Plan, a subsidiary of Centene. Most of the teleconferences were devoted to callers detailing the problems they were experiencing with the program, which was launched Jan. 1 by Gov. Sam Brownback.
