Newspapers can finally burn the paper, leaving only news
The hump from a purely physical presence to a digital one requires an utter change of business model that will require identifying and embracing what newspapers are going forward, and, more importantly, stripping away what they are not. Problem is, the category name, and the physical newspaper itself, has become an icon of its own problem: information, whether it's imagery or news or anything else, just doesn't have to be physical anymore.
