Report: Glare caused pilot to crash float plane
from The Canadian Press via Globe and Mail
A float plane crashed into a steep hillside as it climbed out of the Okanagan Valley near Peachland, British Columbia, killing all three people on board, because the pilot's vision was likely obscured by the sun's glare, the Transportation Safety Board said. The TSB released a report that said the privately owned de Havilland Beaver was facing the sun, and the glare probably prevented the pilot from seeing the looming treetops after the plane took off from Okanagan Lake on May 13, 2012.
