At work: Creative thinking gets cramped

"That's so cool that you get to sit there all day and be creative." If you're a professional "creative," you've likely heard that phrase a thousand times. And it makes you want to scream, "It's hardly like that" — especially these days. In these times of quarter-to-quarter thinking, reduced budgets and the expectation to "jazz it up," "make it go viral" or "make a logo out of an eagle carrying a vacuum cleaner," the creative industry has grown, well, not so creative.
