Gait, cognition predict falls in early Parkinson's
from MedPage Today
Factors that helped predict which patients with Parkinson's disease would fall repeatedly included gait and cognitive ability, a researcher reported here. Among a cohort of 94 patients who had never fallen, factors that were associated with becoming a recurrent faller included step velocity (P=0.017), step time (P=0.018), and cognition (P=0.007), according to Lynn Rochester, Ph.D., of Newcastle University in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
