Aviation Groups Rally at Capitol against Shutdown

Air-traffic controllers, airline pilots and airport executives recently held a rain-soaked rally at the Capitol to protest the government shutdown. Though controllers continue to work and airlines continue to fly, about 200 representatives of aviation groups said the shutdown that began Oct. 1 threatens safety, interrupted hiring and halted modernization efforts.
