Villeneuve Airport upgrades will allow for medevac flights
from Edmonton Journal
The Villeneuve Airport in Alberta is lengthening one of its two runways and installing a sophisticated landing system so it can accept medevac flights carrying patients. The instrument landing system will allow airplanes to land at night and in bad weather, while the 5,000-foot runway — 1,500 feet longer than the other 3,500-foot strip — also increases safe landings and takeoffs at the airport about 33 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
