Robots help hospitals reduce infection rates
from Crain's Detroit Business
Hospitals strive on a daily basis to reduce the amount of bacteria, germs, viruses, spores and fungi that are passed through institutions from patients, the public and employees. Studies have shown that nearly 100,000 patients die annually from an estimated 1.7 million hospital-acquired infections. These infections range from methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus to the drug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae infection that is sweeping through hospitals in New York City.
