8. 4 architects receive Order of Canada

Four Canadian architects have been appointed Members of the Order of Canada, Governor General David Johnston recently announced. The Order of Canada recognizes a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to community and service to the nation. The 2012 appointees include two Companions (C.C.), 33 Officers (O.C.) and 56 Members (C.M.). Brigitte Shim and A. Howard Sutcliffe of Toronto have been appointed "for their contributions as architects designing sophisticated structures that represent the best in Canadian design to the world."
