Eighteen percent of New York City high school students reported being bullied at school or over the Internet in 2011. That's according to a new health department report. It found that 29 percent of gay students said they were bullied compared to 17 percent of heterosexual students. It also found that bullying victims are 2.5 times more likely to attempt suicide. That's 15 percent compared to 6 percent of other students.
