AS we mark the beginning of the New Year (2014), it is worth noting that the development pace, under the Government of National Unity (GNU) during the year 2013 was encouraging. However, the past year has not been entirely a blessing to many Zanzibaris because of three reasons. The increasing abuse of women and children, acid attacks and a fire which burnt down tourist hotels were an unforgettable incidents on the isles. more
