 Bookstore sales fell 1.6 percent in 2013

With sales dipping 0.5 percent in December, bookstore sales in 2013 fell 1.6 percent, to $13.19 billion, according to preliminary estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau. Bookstore sales in December were $1.48 billion compared to $1.49 billion in December 2012. Sales for the entire retail segment were up 4.0 percent for 2013. more
