ASCD and CDC announce 'Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child' model
from American School Health Association
ASHA president Linda Morse has expressed support for the new model which was released the week of March 17, at SOPHE’s annual conference: “ASCD’s Whole Child approach and the coordinated school health (CSH) model have finally become synergistic! The merged model more clearly represents the physical and social-emotional needs of students as well as more specifically delineating the critical roles of both families and communities. In addition, we finally have a better way to articulate the outcomes we wish to see: students who are healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged. Clearly, this is the next step in ensuring that all students are healthy and ready to learn!”
